Product Description

This particular Wu Shi Pai is carved from a single genuine Lonely Stone, with almost an entire face preserving its natural scattered golden skin (洒金皮). The golden skin spreads organically across the surface, creating a soft, warm contrast against the creamy white jade body. Every part of this pattern was formed by nature before the stone was carved. It is not an applied color or decorative treatment, but part of the original character of the single-seed pebble.

Turn the pendant over, and the character changes completely. The reverse presents a remarkably clean field of creamy white jade, allowing the fine quality of the jade itself to take center stage. This contrast between the naturally golden-skinned face and the quiet creamy-white reverse makes the piece especially interesting to wear and collect. One side carries the story of the original river-worn stone; the other reveals the purity and calm of the jade within.

The jade itself has the warm, soft appearance and fine, oily character prized in high-quality Xinjiang Hetian nephrite. Its surface is smooth and understated, with a gentle luster rather than a bright, glass-like shine. The substantial thickness of approximately 11 mm also gives the piece a satisfying presence in the hand.

The beauty of a Wu Shi Pai lies precisely in its restraint. There is no elaborate carving to distract from the material, and no need for additional decoration. For a piece made from a truly exceptional Lonely Stone, simplicity becomes the luxury. The quality of the jade, the natural golden skin, the original character of the seed, and the proportions of the finished piece are enough.

At approximately 22 grams, this is a substantial yet elegant pendant, particularly well suited to a woman who appreciates understated luxury. It can be worn close to the collarbone with a simple cord or fine chain, or kept as a collector's piece. Its quiet form makes it easy to wear, while its natural skin and exceptional jade quality give it the depth expected of a serious collection piece.

Natural skin on genuine Lonely Stone is extremely rare. In the current jade market, artificial skin and treatments are widespread, and reproducing the appearance of naturally formed seed skin has become increasingly sophisticated. Hermit Jade therefore places particular importance on tracing the source of our Lonely Stones and only offering pieces whose natural origin and original character we can stand behind. We do not deal in pieces with questionable skin or uncertain provenance.

A simple Wu Shi Pai, carved from a genuine Lonely Stone—where the beauty of the jade itself is enough, and peace is the meaning it carries.
