This particular Lonely Stone is especially remarkable for its natural golden-yellow Qin color, known in Chinese jade collecting as Huang Qin (黄沁). Unlike surface color that simply remains on the skin of a pebble, Qin color develops naturally as mineral-rich elements gradually penetrate into the nephrite over an extremely long period of time. In this stone, the warm chicken-fat yellow color has permeated deeply from the outside toward the interior, creating a luminous golden tone that is one of the most beautiful expressions of naturally formed Qin jade.

The color is particularly attractive for its brightness and warmth. It is not a dull brownish yellow, but a rich, glowing golden yellow with a soft, almost honey-like appearance. Combined with the exceptionally fine jade texture, the stone has a remarkably smooth and creamy visual quality. To the naked eye, the jade material appears almost seamless, with an exceptionally fine and compact texture. Its natural 脂粉感 (zhī fěn gǎn)—the soft, creamy, powdery richness appreciated by experienced Chinese jade collectors—is particularly strong.

There are some small natural imperfections in the original stone. Instead of simply removing material or hiding them, our master jade carver carefully studied the stone and chose to work with its natural condition. The back of the stone was therefore given a hand-carved design with the theme “Guardian” (守护). The carving transforms what might otherwise be considered an imperfection into part of the stone's story.“守护” means to protect, to guard, and to preserve what is precious. For us, the meaning goes beyond simply protecting something external. It also represents guarding the beauty within oneself—the inner peace, kindness, memories, dreams, and things we truly treasure. This makes the carving especially meaningful for a personal piece of jewelry: something worn close to the body, accompanying its owner every day as a quiet reminder to protect what matters most.
